Beauty Bender: Products i'm bingeing on right now.
I thought i'd share a few beauty products I'm loving lately.
Since turning 35 i've noticed a huge change in my skin. Perhaps the stress of the past year hasn't helped with the ageing process but i do feel a shift. And it's not necessarily a welcomed one. As always i like to keep things natural and easy. Let's face it i don't have heaps of time to spend hanging out in my bathroom indulging in a long regime. So what i do use needs to be fuss free and show results. Like fast.
Here's what i'm loving right now.
Aesop Geranium leaf body balm: I know i don't have to tell you how amazing Aesop products are. And for me this isn't necessarily a new product i'm using but a favourite one. I don't think i've ever come across someone who has used them and didn't like them. They are of the highest quality and made under strict scientific guidelines. Not to mention stepping into one of their stores is a packaging lovers paradise and their professional staff deliver some of THE best customer service i have ever experienced. This Geranium leaf body balm is lightweight, moisturising without being oily or sticky and has the most heavenly smell. I've been a fan for years and will continue to be.
Jade roller: Jade facial rollers have been around for centuries. There's evidence of them as far back as seventh-century China, where the stone was believed to have healing and protective properties. By using a jade roller as a follow up to skincare products it can help the ingredients soak into your skin better so they can, in turn, do their jobs better. Try using after you've applied your favourite face serum. Jade's naturally cool to the touch but i keep mine in the fridge to combat that morning puffiness and have noticed a great improvement along my jawline and cheek bones. Finding the right Jade roller is tricky, beware of fakes. Usually the more $$ the better. Expect to spend around $40-$80 to get real jade. There's heaps of coloured glass imposters out there!
Eco Tan Face tanning water: This has been quite a discovery! This self tanning Face Tan Water is a gradual liquid tanning toner specifically created for the face, neck and décolletage. It's organic, vegan friendly, and free from synthetic ingredients. I don't wear foundation or bronzer so this gives me a sun kissed straight from the beach glow without exposing my skin to the elements. It's quite hydrating and doesn't clog your pores and would be great for someone suffering from acne, eczema or rosacea as it's super lightweight and has no nasties. I apply mine twice a week, Monday & Thursday to keep a consistent glow. A few drops on a cotton pad and quick swipe across my face and neck and i look like i've just had a week in Hawaii.
There's a reason why this product has won so many awards. Do yourself a favour!
The Ordinary Caffeine solution 5%: This light textured formula contains an extremely high 5% concentration of caffeine, (yup, coffee is my hero in more ways than one!) supplemented with highly-purified Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside from green tea leaves. Sound very science-y but trust me this stuff works.
Studies have shown that topical use of each of caffeine and EGCG can help reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour. Additional studies have shown that caffeine can also reduce the appearance of cellulite. Ever tried rubbing coffee grind into your cellulite? it's magic at making those stubborn dimples disappear.
I've been using this for around a two months now and have noticed a considerable difference in the shadows under my eyes. It's super light weight easily slips into my night time routine.
Pink Clay mask:
I've been making this mask and applying it when i can, mostly while doing laundry and unloading the dishwasher and have been loving the results. Made only from Australian Pink clay and water it draws out impurities, toxins and pollutants from the skin. Refines the pores and deep cleanses while regenerating and stimulating cell production. The beautiful pink clay also tightens pores and brightens the skin. You literally glow after doing this mask. Mix some clay with water and apply with a soft brush and after it dries remove gently with warm water and a face washer.
Make sure you only buy the best quality pink clay, my fav is from here.
So there you have it. Feel free to hit me up if you want anymore info on these products.
