My top 5 kiddo friendly cafes in Sydney. Part 1.

My top 5 kiddo friendly cafes in Sydney. Part 1.

If you're like me and love coffee and enjoy sitting in a coffee shop chilling out with the fam bam but prefer not to have your latte served with a side of stink eye you'll need to check out my top 5 kiddo friendly cafe's. Is it just me or is everyone else getting dirty looks for going out for coffee with your kid's in tow?

Don't get me wrong. I love a good hipster cafe. I'll gladly partake in sitting on an uncomfortable designer stool that's probably worth about $500 in a freezing cold warehouse space complete with inappropriate wall "art"  and music thats more experimental than enjoyable. But sometimes i get a bit sick of tight spaces and barista's too cool to make my kid a babycino and lack of space to have a high chair or pram. #parentwoes

The below cafe's are perfect to take the whole family to and some actually LIKE having kid's enjoying their space.

Where's your favourite family friendly cafe? I'm going to keep adding to this list so i welcome any reccomendations!

1. Bitton Gourmet- Alexandria.

This place is my favourite and a go to if we are meeting up with friends with kids. Heaps of space for prams and high chairs, a toy room, colouring-in at the table and the perfect kids menu. What more could you want? Well how about cheap locals night, BYO Thursdays and an on site grocery shop packed with tasty treats. A pretty impressive and delicious Australian/French fusion menu and champagne encouraged at breakfast, yes please!

Did i mention there's a park across the road? Score.

2. The Grounds of Alexandria- Alexandria.

Yeah i know, hipster alert but seriously if your kids can't enjoy themselves being outside with farm animals while you sit back and relax under a vine covered, flower laden pergola while you sip your coffee then i don't know what will. On a more serious note, the food is good, coffee is reliable and there's heaps of things to keep the kiddo's occupado like the animals, mini food stalls, flower shop and plenty of space to run around. Warning: weekends are a nightmare so go early to avoid the hipster crew and hardcore Insta-grammers.

3. Three Williams - Redfern.

Sometimes it's the simple things in life that keep the kiddo's happy like scribbling on a giant chalkboard along the walls of Three Williams. As a former Redfern local this place has that casual vibe that keeps you coming back, and so does the menu! With space to boot and fennel salted chips that i crave weekly this pram/high chair friendly hang out is a gem in the middle of the city. Three Williams will not disappoint.

4. Coogee Pavilion - Coogee.

Coffee time at the Coogee Pavilion comes not only with a beautiful view of the ocean but an old school toy and games area for the kiddo's to hang and play in. A family orientated, casual vibe with kids menu's and seriously delicious wood-fired pizzas. Only 20 mins from the city and a great place chill out in the warmer months this Merivale owned establishment is definitely a book ahead of time venue as it can get pretty crazy one the weekends.

4. Grandma's - Alexandria.

I've only just recently stumbled upon Grandma's. The name says it all. Comfort food and home style meals inspired by what Granny used to make. An onsite bakery where everything is made from scratch and a perfect kid's menu. Space galore for prams and highchairs and a separate play area for the kids to play while you sip your coffee. Zero pretension and casual homey vibe, Grandma's is the perfect venue for chilling with the kiddo's and relaxing.

5. Queen's Park shed - Queens park.

A no brainer for those wanting space for the kiddo's to run around in. The Queens park shed is opposite a fully loaded playground with plenty of outdoor space to sit and watch the kid's get up to no good while you sip your coffee and take in the sunshine. Furry family members can also benefit from a trip to the shed as it's surrounded by playing fields just begging for a ball to be thrown around in. A rustic, laid back cafe that's licensed and has a great kids menu this inner city gem is the perfect Sunday morning family hang out spot.
