Winter skin care i can't live without.
I'm one of those girls who is relatively fuss free when it comes to skincare and beauty regimes. I've been doing the same routine for nearly 20 years. If it ain't broke.... you know the rest.
I do take a little more care in winter though, something that was drilled into me as a child by my late grandmother. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!!!
I wash my face everyday with Dove beauty bar and follow with Olay total effects SPF 15+. I would probably wear make-up three times a year if i'm lucky and i think my skin over the years has thanked me for it.
I like to keep anything i put on my face as natural as i can, the less chemicals and nasties the better in my book. I'm also a bit of an aqua-holic, water is such an important part of any skincare regime, a litre a day keeps the wrinkles at bay!
To help stop my skin from drying out in winter i add another level of moisture on top of my normal routine. I love rose-hip oil. Im currently using the rose-hip jojoba blend from the jojoba company.
The jojoba helps carry the rosehip oil down further into the skins layers for maximum benefit of the oils essential fatty acids and anti-aging super powers!
In summer its great for protecting your skin from drying out and its all i use on my face for the perfect warm summer night skin glow. Get onto it, you won't be sorry.
Moroccan oil, I know it's not a new thing. i'm certainly late to the party on this one. A bottle of this treatment was gifted to me by a friend and i'm now hooked. My hair is normally shoved into a messy high bun most days but on the odd chance I'm going out, this stuff makes my hair look i just got a professional wash and blow dry and paid a fortune for it.
Oh and it smells ah-mazing!
Suvana paw paw and honey balm. I love this stuff. Smother it on your lips, scratches, insect bites, pimples, cuticles and even soothe nappy rash on the little ones. It's Australian made, cruelty free, certified organic, smells and tastes amazing and i have at least two tubes on the go all the time. Great stuff.
Generally under $10 too.
Miessence intensive body cream. If you stand still long enough in my bathroom chances are i will cover you head to toe in this stuff. It smells incredible and makes your skin super soft and moisturised without being too thick and gluey.
Again this ones organic and Australian made.
Sephora luster matt long-wear lip colour in Magenta. Because when it's grey outside sometimes a girl needs a little colour! This stuff stays put for hours and won't smudge or bleed. And i'm still not over the bright lip thing yet, should i be?
The only other thing i do in the cooler months is make sure i'm scrubbed and buffed regularly to get rid of dry skin. I use my never fail Coconut and pink grapefruit sugar scrub. It's easy to whip up in hurry and the coconut oil is nourishing and the grapefruit refreshing.
